About Me


Greetings! I Prof. Konireddy Hemachandra Reddy, currently serving as the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education. Holding a doctorate in mechanical engineering and an experience spanning 32 years. The classroom, for me, has been a dynamic space where I've derived immense joy from interacting with students and guiding them toward the realization of their aspirations. Serving as the Chairman of APSCHE since July 2019, I continue to contribute to the enhancement of higher education in the state.

Throughout my journey, I have undertaken various administrative roles, in contributing towards the development of academic institutions. Noteworthy positions include serving as the Principal of a self-financed college, Director of Academic and Planning at JNT University Anantapur, Placement Officer of JNTU College of Engineering, and Nodal Officer of the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP). My roles also extended to being the Principal of JNTU Pulivendula, Director of Academic Planning and Development at JNTU, and Registrar of JNTU. My professional network includes memberships in prestigious organizations such as the Institutions of Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

In the realm of research, my focus areas encompass Computational Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer, and Ice Engines. I have authored 24 national and 114 international papers, with a notable H-index of 27. Guided 40 research scholars towards their Ph.D. and mentored one scholar for a post-doctoral degree.

Beyond academia, I am actively engaged in community service, being a proud member of the Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. My commitment to community engagement extends to motivating students to participate in National Service Scheme (NSS) activities, fostering a sense of responsibility and social awareness.

My international exposure includes visits to the USA, Austria, Malaysia, and Germany for academic and administrative assignments. Adding to my achievements, I hold 3 patents for “Computer-implemented system and method for evaluating optimal machining parameters in WEDM," published on June 9, 2017, “3D Printing Wood-PLA Composite for HVAC Application” published on 2nd February 2024, “Development of Banana Fiber/PLA Green Composite Thermal Insulation Panels for Cold Storage” published on 2nd February 2024.
